Bridging the gap between scientific research and patient care remains one of the greatest challenges of our time

The Centre for Translational Medicine at Semmelweis University is committed to training researchers and clinicians who are able to rapidly and effectively translate scientific discoveries into tangible benefits for patients.

Our mission is to help students to learn by themselves based on the concept of learning by doing with the guidance of professionals and to contribute to the improvement of patient care. You can watch our short PR video by clicking the link below.

To support this mission, we have established a bilateral doctoral program, a Master’s program in Clinical Translational Medicine, as well as our Summer and Winter Schools held multiple times each year, and the Supervisor Masterclass, which supports mentors in guiding students toward impactful translational research. These initiatives provide a solid foundation for the widespread adoption of translational thinking in both research and education.

The growing international recognition of the program is reflected in the fact that we now have participants from 24 countries. Your institution can further strengthen its international visibility by contributing to a globally recognized training network.

What can students gain from the training programs offered by the Centre for Translational Medicine?

  • Innovative training model – scientific research can be pursued in parallel with clinical or other professional work.
  • International research environment – 705 ongoing projects, 352 students from 24 countries.
  • Outstanding publication opportunities – 308 publications with a total cumulative impact factor of 1 577
  • Strong mentorship and support system – guidance from nationally and internationally recognized experts.
  • Flexibility – accessible for residents, clinicians, and professionals engaged in various healthcare fields.

We are counting on your support this year as well!
On April 17 at 1:00 PM (CET), we will hold an online webinar to present the details of our programs and answer questions from prospective applicants.
