In the period October 20-25, 2025, representatives of Medical University – Pleven visited Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) in China, as well as its First and Second Affiliated Hospitals and the HIFU Medical Technology Center. The delegation was led by the Rector of MU-Pleven, Prof. Dr. Dobromir Dimitrov, and included representatives of the academic leadership – Prof. Dr. Tsvetelina Valentinova, Vice-Rector for Quality and Accreditation, and Assoc. Prof. Maya Yotova, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, as well as Dr. Georgi Prandzhev from "St. Marina" University Hospital – Pleven, and Nadezhda Angelova, an expert at the "Foreign Students" Center. The visit continued with a tour of the Yongchuan Hospital and the Medical Aesthetic Center affiliated with the Yongchuan Hospital.
Prof. Dr. Dobromir Dimitrov commented on the purpose of the working visit with the words: "We will deepen the cooperation between the two universities in scientific research, and more specifically in the field of artificial intelligence for clinical application in medicine, maintain the current partnership under the student and lecturer exchange programs, and build professional and social contacts at a global level."
The visit to the First Affiliated Hospital of CQMU included familiarization with the outpatient and polyclinic pharmacy, the Clinical Skills Training Center, and the National Health Commission's Laboratory for Functional Brain Diseases. The meeting with the management of the Second Affiliated Hospital of CQMU provided an opportunity for the participants to exchange ideas and discuss joint projects and cooperation, and continued with a tour of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.
The visit to the affiliated Yongchuan Hospital also provided an opportunity for discussions and the exchange of ideas and experience. The hosts demonstrated the robot-assisted system for transporting samples within the hospital, as well as the established system for transporting laboratory samples using a drone between the hospital facilities. The visit to the aesthetic center continued with a demonstration of Fu's subcutaneous needling therapy, as well as a demonstration of simulation systems for medical care, allowing for better training of students and residents.
