On December 2, 2025, the official launch of the project "Cross-border Multidisciplinary Instruction through Telemedicine" (ROBG00272 – MITEC) was held at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Craiova, Romania.
The project is implemented by Medical University – Pleven as the lead partner, alongside the "Otvorena Dlan" (Open Palm) Foundation and the Romanian Association for Technology Transfer and Innovation (AROTT). The "Dr. Georgi Stranski" University Hospital – Pleven serves as an associated partner.

What's Next?
Over the next two years, the MITEC project will:
Establish three telemedicine offices in Craiova and Pleven;
Develop an interactive digital platform for training in Neurosurgery, ENT (Otolaryngology), and Gastroenterology;
Organize demonstration sessions aimed at modernizing medical education through digital solutions.
The Contribution of MU - Pleven
The university will participate actively through its modern infrastructure and expertise in medical education. The team from Pleven will develop educational materials and training courses, providing clinical resources and expert staff. MU–Pleven leads in fields such as Neurosurgery and ENT, while UMF Craiova contributes strong expertise in Gastroenterology.
The MITEC project is a significant step toward the future of medical training—making it more innovative, accessible, and driven by digital technologies.
