Working visit by officials from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest to MU–Pleven

From September 13 to 16, 2026, at the invitation of the leadership of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, MU–Pleven welcomed official representatives from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest, Hungary (Állatorvostudományi Egyetem) – Prof. Tibor Bartha, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Assoc. Prof. Mira Mándoki, Head of the Department of Pathology.
During the visit, the guests held a working meeting with the Dean and Vice-Deans of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine—Assoc. Prof. Branimir Nikolov, Assoc. Prof. Miroslav Genov, and Assoc. Prof. Iliyan Kostov. They presented the vision for the development of the newly established faculty, its structure, educational and research activities, international cooperation, and prospects for future projects.
The Rector of MU–Pleven, Prof. Dobromir Dimitrov, presented the official guests with a plaque in appreciation of the successful partnership and cooperation between the newly established Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Pleven and the well-established University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. During the visit, representatives from the Hungarian university explored the high-tech facilities for education and research at MU–Pleven, touring the laboratories at the "Leonardo da Vinci" Competence Center and the Telecommunication Endoscopic Center.
Special attention was paid to the development of veterinary medical education in Pleven. The guests met with faculty members and students of veterinary medicine and visited the "Dr. Eduard Haskell" high-tech training facility of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in the town of Pordim.
On-site, the dean's leadership team presented the development concept for the veterinary medicine campus and future clinical infrastructure, as well as opportunities for deepening international academic partnerships.
The visit emphasized the development of joint initiatives and the establishment of sustainable international cooperation in the fields of veterinary education, research, and practice.
