In September 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polina Marinova from Medical University – Pleven served as an instructor in another international course in general surgery at IRCAD – Strasbourg, France – one of the world's leading centers for training, scientific development, and innovation in the field of minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
The course brought together specialists from various countries for an intensive training program featuring expert lectures, live surgical demonstrations, and hands-on practical training. Participants had the opportunity to refine their surgical techniques, exchange professional experience with international experts, and train in a highly specialized environment.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polina Marinova is the first Bulgarian surgeon to be invited as a faculty member/instructor in an international course at IRCAD – France. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marinova's participation as a trainer is yet another recognition of her professional and teaching expertise. In May 2026, she was already part of the instructional team for the "Laparoscopic General Surgery Intensive Course" at IRCAD – Strasbourg.
The invitation to Assoc. Prof. Marinova was extended personally by the Director of IRCAD – France, Prof. Antonello Forgione, following a high evaluation of her professional performance, expert skills, and teaching capacity.
Through her consistent participation as an instructor in IRCAD's prestigious international courses, Assoc. Prof. Marinova contributes to the exchange of knowledge and experience among surgeons from around the world and proudly represents Medical University – Pleven and UMHAT "Dr. Georgi Stranski" EAD before the international academic and professional community.
