Medical University - Plevenhas achieved a significant international milestone. A scientific publication on the first transcontinental tele-mentored robotic surgery between China and Bulgaria has been accepted in JSLS (Journal of the Society of Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons).
The procedure was performed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Martin Karamanliev and the surgical team in Pleven, with real-time expert guidance from Prof. Dr. Dobromir Dimitrov from China via Proximie platform and 5G connectivity, demonstrating how innovation is transforming surgery beyond borders.
This achievement highlights the growing impact of Leonardo da Vinci | Center of Competence in advancing digital health, telemedicine, and high-tech surgery.
