MU-Pleven officially received a certificate of registration for an outpatient medical facility from the "Medical Supervision" Executive Agency – an important step in the development of the university and modern medical science.
The registration covers activities in medical genetics, general and clinical pathology, and clinical microbiology, creating new opportunities for the development of diagnostic, educational, and research activities. The new status will allow for the implementation of medical and highly specialized diagnostic activities in support of the training of students, PhD students, and medical residents, combined with scientific research and the introduction of innovative diagnostic approaches.
The registration is also a significant milestone for the development of the "Leonardo da Vinci" Competence Center, where high-tech infrastructure and modern equipment will support the diagnostic, educational, and scientific activities of the newly registered structure.
"In the newly registered structure, modern genomic technologies for precise diagnosis and personalized medicine will be applied," emphasized Prof. Dr. Savelina Popovska. Among the main focus areas will be molecular diagnostics and molecular profiling in oncological diseases, as well as highly specialized diagnostics of hereditary and rare genetic diseases.
The main activity will be carried out at the MU–Pleven facility located at 1 Kliment Ohridski St., and the Second Clinical Base "Prof. Dr. Minyo Ganchev" – Pleven has been registered as a branch, where activities in clinical microbiology will be developed.
By obtaining this registration, MU–Pleven and the "Leonardo da Vinci" Competence Center expand the opportunities for integrating educational, medical, and scientific activities, reinforcing their positions as leading centers for innovation, training, and scientific research in medicine.
